GEER Device Replacement Grant
Lending device replacement due to increase in use from the pandemic
Georgia Public Library Service (GPLS) was recently awarded $2.3 million in funding under the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund from federal Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act funding for device replacement due to increase of use during the pandemic. GPLS is targeting devices heavily used by students and job seekers including Chromebooks, conference cameras, and launchpads. All 60 library systems will have the opportunity to receive new devices to deploy for continued pandemic recovery. Devices will be direct shipped to libraries to ensure fast deployment at the community level where it is needed most. Funding must be used by September 30, 2023.
